This feature is available/visible to users with publisher or customer admin privileges only and requires end-users be on the 3.22 MobileLibrary (or higher).
The Device-Specific Publishing feature allows you to choose the device types on which specific pieces of content (applets, images, PDFs, videos, etc.) are able to be viewed (after being shared with a group of users). NOTE: Folders are accessible based on group sharing and cannot be published to specific devices.
So, for instance, if you’ve created an applet for iPad and a separate applet for iPhone using the same content, you can use Device-Specific Publishing to ensure that users on an iPad will only see the iPad applet and those on an iPhone will only see the iPhone applet.
Using Device-Specific Publishing:
All applets and files will be initially configured to target all devices, so to target a specific device type for a piece of content:
- In WorkCloud, click on the Library button in the top bar.
2. Navigate to the appropriate piece of content and click on its name to view the detail screen.
3. Under Select Publish Devices, uncheck the device names that you do not want the content to be published to. These settings are saved automatically.
The ScrollMotion app will attempt to sync with the server every two minutes when the device is connected to the internet. Any changes made to your content will be seen in as soon as two minutes or the next time the user connects to the server.
If you uncheck a device type for a previously published piece of content before a user has downloaded it, the content will silently disappear from the app according to the paragraph above. If the user has already downloaded the content before you uncheck the device type, the content will remain accessible in their MobileLibrary until they manually remove it.
